Imagine sleeping under the stars after an active day of kayaking in the San Juan Islands. Now, imagine that
it's a camp!
Kayak Adventure Camp is a camping enthusiast's
dream—sleeping on semi-deserted islands, cooking over an open flame, and ocean kayaking several miles
a day. But it's also a great way to immerse yourself in something greater than yourself knowing the challenge that awaits is meant to help you grow.
This unique camp is designed for young adults aged
18–25 who are themselves pediatric or young adult cancer survivors. In addition, applicants need to:
- Be off treatment for a minimum of 10 months, and have no port/port-a-cath
- Carry equipment and personal belongings up to 100 yards
- Assist in the set-up, preparation, and cleanup of camp and meals
- Paddle 3–5 hours per day
- Get a medical release from a physician
Every camper is required to bring gear and personal items for the trip, while other items are provided. View the official packing list.
